View Anatomy of Efficiency, an executive overview of thin computing. Learn how thin computing can optimize your IT infrastructure, cut costs and give your enterprise the competitive edge.
It's become more impractical to run your business on personal computers today. PCs are fraught with problems, from being easily stolen to being easily infected with viruses and worse. And, because IT no longer has to touch each desktop individually, thin computing allows them to spend more time enabling innovation, driving revenue to the bottom line, and promoting other organizational initiatives. With thin computing, resources can be allocated where they make the most sense for your organization.
While many see thin computing as just another name for "thin-client computing," it comprises much more than a typical client-server arrangement.
It turns your network into a very long connection between parts of your computer. Everything works just like a PC, but the data, operating system and applications all reside on the server. Viruses, Trojan horses and other security threats are eliminated at the server level, not at the desktop. Also, files are stored on the server, so you never have to worry about a desktop system going down and taking critical data with it.
Fast, efficient and secure—thin computing is the intelligent IT solution for today's business world.

"The Wyse thin clients alleviate potential data security concerns. They provide peace of mind. If I had all thin clients, I wouldn’t have to worry about hard drive disposal issues." Karen Engelhardt, RN, MBA
Director of Product Operations
University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago

"The experience for the users is exactly what we had hoped. They can’t tell the difference. Some departments have noticed that the new systems run faster because database calls happen at the data center rather than across the network."
