Sean Hogan is vice president and global leader of IBM Healthcare Delivery Systems and in this capacity is responsible for leading all aspects of IBM's healthcare business, including strategic direction, investment decisions and operations. Mr. Hogan's organization leads the development of IBM's Healthcare Industry Solutions, Business Partnerships and Alliances and growth and investments initiatives.

Throughout his professional career, Mr. Hogan has focused on business strategy, innovation and growth—particularly growth that is predicated on business model transformation and advanced technology. Before assuming his current position, Mr. Hogan held several executive responsibilities within the IBM's Healthcare and Life Sciences business. Prior to joining IBM's Healthcare and Life Sciences business, Mr. Hogan was director, IBM Emerging Business Opportunity group in IBM Corporate Strategy which focused on creation and launch of new growth businesses for IBM.

Mr. Hogan also has held leadership positions in several strategy consulting and successful start-up organizations, including Mainspring, Renaissance Worldwide and Booz Allen Hamilton.


Peggy Rodebush

Peggy Rodebush, RN, MSN, is a partner in IBM's Strategy and Change Practice and the leader of IBM's U.S. Healthcare Practice. Ms. Rodebush has more than 25 years of healthcare practice experience, including almost 17 years with a north Florida-based provider and payer organization. She has spent the last 15 years as a national consultant, leading organizations through complex clinical and business strategic transformations. Ms. Rodebush has extensive experience with payers, providers and state and federal clients focused on maximizing the value of technology to improve operations. Her clinical and consulting background has helped her work with healthcare executives to successfully implement the process and people changes integral to successful implementation of technologies. In addition, she brings an understanding of the governance, culture and organizational changes critical to ensuring the technologies implemented have both end-user "buy-in" and board and senior management clarity of anticipated benefits. Ms. Rodebush is recognized as a leader and speaker for healthcare improvements on a national level.


Dr. Daniel Martich

As a Vice-President and Associate Chief Medical Officer of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), Dan Martich has led one of the nation’s largest integrated delivery healthcare networks to a leadership position within the growing field of electronic health records. During Dan's tenure, UPMC has gained a reputation as the nation's premier innovator in leveraging new products, processes and technology to solve various information technology needs for the betterment of patient care. Under Dan's direction, UPMC is defining a new world of health information technology featuring transparency to the consumer and referring physicians.

Dr. Martich has a long history with UPMC, having joined the second largest non-governmental employer in Pennsylvania in 1992 as a critical care physician. Dan has served as an intensivist and co-director of the cardiothoracic intensive care unit winning awards for his clinical acumen and teaching abilities. He started the critical care information system department shortly after joining UPMC and has served as its only medical director. That department provides for all of the bedside integration of information needs for each of the more than 150 critical care patients at UPMC-Presbyterian.

Dr. Martich holds an MD degree from West Virginia University, and a bachelor of science degree in Chemistry from Bethany College. He served his internal medicine residency at The Ohio State University and completed fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine at the National Institutes of Health. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine and is Professor of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dan Pelino

As general manager, Dan Pelino is responsible for the strategic direction of IBM's Global Healthcare and Life Sciences business. He leads his team in developing the latest information technology solutions and services, establishing partnerships and overseeing IBM investments in the healthcare, pharmaceutical and life sciences markets. In this role, Dan works closely with leaders in healthcare and life sciences, including public and private healthcare providers and payers, and biotech and pharmaceutical companies, helping them leverage IBM capabilities to address issues facing the industry. These include rapidly rising costs, information access and quality of care.

Dan is a leader in the transformation of healthcare. He has formed many key partnerships with leading healthcare organizations and currently oversees important initiatives such as the Global Pandemic Steering Committee.

Dan has held numerous executive positions, including vice president, Worldwide Distribution Channels Management, Corporate Marketing and Strategy and vice president, Americas, for the Central Region, responsible for customer relationships, revenue, profit and market share for 15 mid-western states. He also served as the group vice president of Global Sales and Support, Technology Group, with worldwide sales, marketing, and technical support responsibility for IBM's Technology Group. In this position, he was responsible for sales, support and marketing of storage, microelectronics, networking and display technologies.

Dan is involved in many organizations, including the Advisory Board of Western Kentucky University, Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, Illinois Governor's Transition Team Streamlining Government Committee and the Board of Directors for Teach for America. He is a frequent speaker outside of IBM and has authored and presented on such topics as healthcare transformation, business strategy, managing for change, building a winning climate and culture and business transformation and operational excellence.

Dan received his master's degree in organizational communications and his bachelor's degree in business administration and public relations from Western Kentucky University. He joined IBM in 1980. Dan and his family reside in Hinsdale, Ill.
